One remarkable itinerary takesvisitors on a journey through three iconic locations: the Summer Palace, theOlympic Park, and the Lama Temple. The Summer Palace, once an imperial palaceand garden of the Qing dynasty, is renowned as the "Royal GardenMuseum." The palace is divided into three areas: the political activityarea centered around renshoudian; the imperial living area with yulantang andleshoutang as the main buildings; and the garden tour area along the LongCorridor, at the back of the mountain, and in the western district. Iconicstructures such as the Tower of Buddhist Incense, the Long Corridor, the MarbleBoat, Suzhou Street, and the Seventeen-Arch Bridge are must-sees. Additionally, taking a boat ride on Kunming Lake is a delightful way to enjoy the scenery. The Olympic Park, located at the northern end of Beijing's central axisextension, was the main venue for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. After theOlympics, it has become a comprehensive public activity center with variousfunctions including sports events, exhibition centers, science and educationculture, and leisure shopping. The Lama Temple, also known as the Yonghegong,is a rare Gelug school (Yellow Sect) royal temple of Tibetan Buddhism inBeijing.
